Membership Overview

AIMSC members include Australia’s largest Government, non-government enterprises, universities and not-for-profit organisations.

AIMSC members profit from having immediate access to Certified Indigenous businesses qualified to deliver competitive, innovative products and services.

Membership provides AIMSC members with the clarity and measurability needed to ensure the success of their Reconciliation Action Plan’s procurement goals.

As an AIMSC Member, you will:

  • have access to an online database of AIMSC Certified Indigenous business suppliers
  • be involved in regular networking events where you can exchange and share information on supplier diversity with like minded companies and corporate social responsibility and procurement specialists
  • have the opportunity to meet and mentor dynamic Indigenous business owners and managers have assurance that suppliers are majority owned, controlled and managed by Indigenous Australians
  • meet the requirements of the Indigenous Opportunity Policy (IOP).

Can anyone become an AIMSC Member?

If your organisation has the ability to purchase a minimum of $25,000 of goods, services and products from AIMSC Certified  suppliers in your first year of membership, you can become an AIMSC Member.

All members must have a registered place of business in Australia. They include public and private companies, franchises, councils, Government agencies, not-for-profits, universities, healthcare institutions etc.

What are the obligations?

As an AIMSC member, you will need to assign a representative from your business who will manage the relationship with us and encourage participation in AIMSC events and activities.

To ensure that we meet our mutual goals, we also require you to:

  • provide AIMSC with quarterly reports on the value and nature of goods, products and services purchased from AIMSC Certified suppliers
  • achieve the annual level of procurement from AIMSC Certified suppliers, as per goals developed with your most senior procurement employee and based on the size of your organisation’s spend capacity
  • participate in, and support, AIMSC events and activities.

To ensure the highest level of commitment to AIMSC and supplier diversity exists, AIMSC requires that all membership application forms are signed by the:

  • Australian company Chief Executive (or Principal Executive Officer)
  • most senior person in the organisation with procurement responsibility (e.g. Chief Procurement Officer, Chief Finance Officer) Agreeing to the above goals does not create a legal obligation on the member’s behalf
