Natalie Walker on Sky News Australia - Social Business

Natalie Walker refers to AIMSC as 'a dating agency for business'. Through the support of AIMSC, indigenous SMEs have been awarded $21.7 million in contracts over the last 21 months and Natalie believes that the new Indigenous Opportunities Policy (IOP) will help provide significant additional support. The IOP encourages large suppliers to the Australian Government to subcontract to Indigenous businesses, and is part of the Government's commitment to Closing the Gap on Indigenous disadvantage. Natalie is confident that we see an increase in the number of Indigenous businesses as a result of this initiative.

Social Business discusses the latest news in not-for-profit activity, corporate responsibility, philanthropy and volunteering. In conjunction with the Centre for Social Impact, this monthly program focuses on key issues around social entrepreneurship, public and social innovation and the emergence of new social businesses.

It is co-hosted Business Channel presenter Brooke Corte and Dr Peter Shergold, the Macquarie Group Foundation Professor at the Centre for Social Impact.
